Frequently Asked Questions

The questions everyone asks before flying to China for treatment — answered in one place.

Most patients enter on an S2 medical visa, supported by our hospital invitation letter. Citizens of 38 countries can enter visa-free for up to 30 days. Your care manager confirms the right route for your nationality and treatment plan before you book flights.

For most procedures the all-in cost in China (treatment + travel + stay) runs 50-70% below the US and 30-50% below Western Europe — driven by public-hospital scale and national volume-based procurement. Use our cost calculator for procedure-level comparisons, or request a written quote within 48 hours.

You don’t plan it — we do. After the free records review, we match you with 2-3 hospitals, lock specialist slots (typically 1-2 weeks out), schedule any surgery (2-4 weeks), and arrange visa documents, hotels and ground transport. You receive one itinerary covering every step.

All partners are Grade-A tertiary hospitals — China’s highest tier — with 1,795 such institutions passing a strict national review. Many hold JCI accreditation. We match each case to departments ranked in the national top tier for that specialty, and every package includes Allianz complication insurance.

Yes — our partner hospitals run international patient centers with English-speaking coordinators. On top of that, your HealthBridge care manager provides dedicated medical translation during consultations, examinations and treatment, so nothing is lost in translation.

Two parts: medical fees are paid directly to the hospital (bank transfer, card or wire — zero markup from us), and every HealthBridge package includes Allianz medical complication insurance. If you hold private international insurance, we supply bilingual invoices and medical reports formatted for reimbursement claims.

Three structural differences: we charge zero markup — hospital fees are paid directly to the hospital; every quote maps to a real hospital tier with a written price lock guarantee; and every package is supervised by Allianz complication insurance, so an independent insurer — not us — audits each bill.

Specialist consultations are typically confirmed within 1–2 weeks; surgery within 2–4 weeks. Urgent cases can use the hospital green channel, and imaging (MRI / CT / PET-CT) is usually scheduled same-week — a timeline that is measured in months in many Western systems.

Any change is re-quoted in writing before the new procedure — nothing is performed without your explicit consent. If the change is driven by new clinical findings, our team re-locks pricing with the hospital within 24 hours, and your coordinator explains the medical reasoning in your language.

Three layers of protection: your on-site coordinator escalates issues in real time; every hospital partner has an international patient office obligated to respond within 24 hours; and Allianz provides an independent complaint and claims channel. In the rare case of a fundamental mismatch, we re-match you to another specialist at no cost.
